How I Spent My Saturday Morning

In case the title of this post didn't give it away, I'm going to tell you exactly how I spent my Saturday morning. In some ways I'm really quite proud of myself, because I got to relax and unwind after the most stressful week at school EVER.  It was terrible.  I had almost as much friend drama as I did tests.  In fact, I had such a stressful and sleepless week that I actually had to try eating breakfast just so I could make it through the day without passing out in the middle of biology!  Terrible, right?  Normally I only eat breakfast on the weekends and when it's school vacation.  My three meals a day were lunch, after school snack and dinner.  My breakfasts this week were a combination of bread, bananas and cookies. Why any of my friends would give me cookies at 7 in the morning is beyond me...

Yeah, so in a nutshell my week was pretty suck.  Except for those cookies, which were delicious.  Really not the healthiest thing for me to eat, but delicious.

That's why I was VERY happy when I woke up this morning.  Saturday is my favorite day of the week.  Fridays are nice because you don't have to do homework, but you have to go to school and that can suck sometimes.  And Sundays just feel like a school day because you have to do homework.

This morning I woke up at 8, which is pretty much the earliest I'll get up on a weekend.  I wasn't really sure what to do, because I didn't feel like sleeping but I also didn't want to leave my room yet.  So I spent an hour lying there listening to my ipod.  Finally, I felt like communicating with other humans, so I went downstairs, made hot cocoa and had my weekly Saturday morning 30 Rock marathon.  After that I spent a while online Christmas shopping, then I took a super long shower.  The end :)

But a couple other things I want to mention- it snowed this week!!!  Finally! The first snow of the season.  Don't you just love it when your sitting in class and all of a sudden someone shouts "It's snowing!!!"

One last thing- I'm so glad it's almost winter break.  I really like the days of school before break though, because you never do any work and everyone gives each other presents :) Like morning cookies.

You Will Meet A Tall, Dark Stranger...

Two words: Fortune Cookies.

Come on, what's not to love? It's a yummy cookie, and while you munch on it a little slip of paper inside gives you a compliment or some good advice.  What more could you want out of life?

My parents and I have a loose tradition- every Thursday is sometimes Chinese food night.  And with our usual order of sweet and sour chicken, vegetables and tofu, and some mysterious dish my dad orders (he actually gets something different every time.  I mean, who does that?) And as every American knows, with Chinese food comes fortune cookies! :)

Over time, I've accumulated an impressive collection of fortunes, which I keep in a ceramic dish shaped like an ice cream cone on my desk.  (I have somewhat of a sweet tooth if you couldn't tell.)  I have fortunes from your classic "Your present plans are going to succeed" to the confusing "Happiness is the key to knowledge" to the hilarious "An admirer is too shy to meet you.  Be on the look out and make the first move!"

Here is a list of some of my favorite fortunes I've gotten...

"Good clothes open many doors.  Go shopping!"

"You are tasting the sweets of success"

"You have an ability to sense and know higher truth"

"You are vigorous in words and action"

"A carrot a day, may keep cancer away"

"Old dreams never die they just get filed away"

"You have an unusually magnetic personality"

"Confucius say: show-off always shown up in showdown."

"You will soon be involved in many gatherings and parties."

"It is a nice day :)"

"Photographic memory!  Remember to put in film, or its digital!?"

"You are demonstrative with those you love"

"The night life is for you"

Have you ever had any interesting fortune cookie fortunes? Comment and let me know!

Once when we were eating Chinese food, my dad opened his fortune cookie.  I asked him what it said, and he replied jokingly:

"Help, I'm being held captive in a fortune cookie factory!!!"

Tis The Season

Well, it's December already, and everyone knows what that means! Snow, Christmas, Christmas shopping, Christmas cookies, Christmas songs, and my favorite, Christmas movies :)

Christmas movies always put me in a really happy mood, because they combine two of my favorite things in life.  No, not movies and Christmas, silly.  Will Ferrel and Jimmy Stewart!

Here are my 5 favorite Christmas Movies:

 A Christmas Story
It's a Wonderful Life
A Charlie Brown Christmas
 How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Elf

Another thing I love about this time of year is by birthday! I can't tell you when it is because this is the internet and all, but it's sometime in winter :)

The third thing I love about December is Christmas music.  It always puts me in such a happy mood!  Every December I stop practicing the music I'm supposed to for cello, and just play Christmas songs instead :)  Actually, to be honest, it's more like from Thanksgiving to Valentines day...

So enjoy the pre-Christmas season!  And even if you don't celebrate Christmas, have a happy holiday!

Oh, I almost forgot... don't forget to flush some ice cubes down the toilet and wish for snow!

An Extra Inch

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be taller for a day, and find out what the world looks like from way up there?  Well, so did I.  So the other week, I decided to find out:

Ha- I'm kidding.  I just wore high heeled boots.  Also, I am not a male clown... and I look nothing like that.  At all.  Don't get any ideas.

Like I said, on Tuesday I traded my usual hot pink vans boat shoes for some high healed black boots I found in my closet from halloweens of yesteryear. Well, alight, they weren't exactly high heels (2 inches, maybe) but they felt high to me.  I must have a weird center of gravity or something, because I had lots of trouble walking in those things.  It didn't help that it was raining that day, either.  On my way in to school I almost slipped on the mud outside in the parking lot!

Anyway, I was surprised to learn that being just one inch taller for a day can actually be pretty different.  Maybe it's because I'm not that tall to begin with (I'm not short, everyone else is just too tall!) And now I wonder how people that are REALLY tall must feel, looking down at everyone else.  At first I think it would be kind of cool, but I'm sure they get tired of it eventually.

Now for a random unrelated paragraph...

It's finally December!  My favorite month of the year!  I absolutely LOVE Christmas :)  Happy Holidays everyone!  And thanks for reading! I'm really excited because last month my page views went WAY way up... from about 2 per day to around 8-10!  (Not too impressive but it's getting there.) So thank you so much for reading!  And thank you for helping my dream of becoming somewhat kind of famous come true ;) (that wasn't exaggerating at all... heh.  Well, I'm sleepy, and thats never a good thing to be while blogging so I'll just stop before I tell you something weird, like that fact that I wore a santa hat for 3 straight hours today while I ate leftover thanksgiving food...)
