Resolution #2

Yes, thats right! I've actually completed another new years resolution! (see my previous post) Bet you didn't see that coming, did you? Seeing as it's February already, I bet most people have forgotten about their resolutions by now.

"What's this? A bill from a gym for four hundred dollars? I didn't even go there this month!"

Thats what I thought.

Wow, I really love the feeling of crossing something off a list, don't you? Maybe it's just me... but I'm going to do it anyway.

~Find a new restaurant (because I'm tired of all the current ones I go to)

I'm particularly happy about completing this one, because I think going through a weekly rotation of restaurants is probably bad for your health.  Thursday Chinese, Friday Pizza, Saturday Subway and Sunday Panera bread.  All the other nights I pretty much eat pasta for dinner.

Anyway, the new restaurant I've found is called Elevation Burger.  And it is awesome.  I already knew by looking at their menu that I was going to like it.  Why?  Because they have something called a Vertigo Burger that you can get with anywhere from three to ten patties.  Yes, thats right, ten.  How does that even fit inside your mouth?  I was really tempted to order it, but decided not to because I didn't want to give myself an arrhythmia just yet.  One of these days.

Anyway, it was excellent.  They fry their french fries in olive oil so they don't taste like the ones at McDonalds that are probably fried in some horrible concoction of farm animal body fluids.  They also have milkshakes and grape soda, two of my favorite beverages.  (I can count on one hand the number of restaurants I've been to that actually have grape soda.  It's quite sad. I love grape soda.)

Did you know that today is the one year anniversary of the 2010 Snowpocalypse that hit northern Virginia?  That was a lot of fun.  We had about two weeks off of school, I think.  I remember I spent a majority of it stranded in my house reading books, painting my nails a new color every two hours and trying out new milkshake recipes.  Oh, the memories.  :)

I Attempt To Be A Chef

Since my parents were both at work this morning, I decided to try a little experiment.  Something you should know about me, is that I'm not exactly the best cook in the world.  I can make scrambled eggs, pasta, toast, milkshakes, ice cream sundaes, brownies, and quesadillas.  (In other words, if I had to provide myself with my own food I'd die of carb overdose in a matter of days.)

But this morning, I decided that I wanted to learn how to make fried eggs.  It couldn't be that hard, right? Wrong.

I'd never done this before, but I assumed you start by putting the eggs in a pan and turning on the stove. So I did.  Then I realized I had no clue what do do next, so I asked youtube and found a promising looking video with a British narrator.

"Pour a spoonful of oil into the pan and turn the heat up to high"

Me: Ooops...  (pours some oil over the eggs which are already in the pan)

"Wait for the eggs to cook"

Me: (waits)

"Now take a spahtchoolah and place your eggs on your plate."

Me: Hehehehe, British people say "spatula" funny...

"Yum yum! Thanks for watching!" (video ends)

Me: Hey, why aren't the whites turning white like in the video? They're still clear! (stirs eggs) Hmm... thats a little better.  Oh! I know what this needs! (sprinkles cheese onto sizzling egg mixture)
~after another minute or so~
Me: Hooray!  They don't look raw anymore!  Time to eat!

So I took my spahtchoolah and put the frambled (fried+scrambled=frambled!) eggs in between two pieces of bread.  And you know what? It actually didn't taste half bad!
