Great Expectations

This is a post from a few months ago, I dug it up in my drafts folder and it turned out it was entirely finished.  Inexplicably, I just forgot to publish it.  So here you go:

To put it mildly, this day did not quite live up to my expectations.  Have you ever had one of those days?  You know the ones I mean, where you're expecting the day to go well and actually have motivation to wake up in the morning, but once it begins you just want to crawl back into bed again?  At least the worst is over... I hope.  I mean, I'm home from school, right?  (Looks around nervously for piano about to fall on head.)

So with today's theme song (Bad Day by Daniel Powter) in my headphones, I'm going to write down all of today's horrors in organized timetable format, and hope that it will help take away a little bit of today's utter horrible-ness.

5:56 am: I Inexplicably woke up four minutes before alarm clock and failed to fall back asleep.
6:00 am: Alarm clock goes off.
6:28 am: I couldn't find my favorite shirt and was forced to wear a sweater that my friend told me makes me look "like a mom."
7:05 am: I tried to buy some skittles from the vending machine at school, and it ate my dollar.
7:05:30 am: Skittles cost an entire dollar.
11:13 am: In english class we got our new reading assignment; Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.  It's HUGE and so far the plot kind of creeps me out... I'm 2 chapters in and all that's happened is the main character Pip has been abused by his older sister and a runaway convict in a graveyard.  Where he was visiting the tombs of his dead parents and four dead siblings.  It's going to be a long six weeks.
12:35 pm: This girl I really don't like came and sat at our table at lunch  (Alright, I'll admit that I'm getting a little nitpicky here but at this point there weren't many things that wouldn't set me off.)
1:31 pm: In history I got assigned a huge research paper that requires visual aids, in text citation and has to be five to six pages long.
2:20 pm: By the time I got outside after last period, I couldn't find my bus and my mom was at work.  Therefore I had to walk home from school through the ice and piles of semi-melted snow.  Also, it was about 20 degrees out.
3:02 pm: I finally arrive home cold and tired.  And guess what?  We're out of hot coca mix.

So there's the story of my horrible day.  And now it's probably about to get a lot worse because, let's face it, who wants to read a blog where someone just sits and complains all the time?  Now you're probably thinking "Ick.  I'm never coming back here again." And thus, you will leave me forever.

Please don't go.  I love you! <3

Oh, come on, not like that. You know what I mean.  The 'love' means that I highly appreciate and respect the fact that you even bother to venture over to this sad little patch of internet and listen to my tangents, proclamations, lists, and dreadful attempts at humor.  Because you do that; this is for you:

Did you know that skittles cost a dollar?  One WHOLE dollar!  Think about it... that means that with four dollars you can get a gallon of gas... or four packages of skittles.  What is our world coming to?

  1. You've got 3 choices here:
4 packages worth of brain stuntness
1 gallon's worth of air pollution

    or...

$4 worth of froyo for your best friend in the whole world!

The choice is obvious, my dear.
